The United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the victory of Dr Kayode Fayemi in the just-concluded Ekiti state governorship election as “a call to higher service”.

 The governor-elect of  Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has described his victory in Saturday’s governorship election as one “  for reclaiming the land and restoring Ekiti values.”

President Muhammadu Buhari, who will depart for the Netherlands today, has urged  Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election, to be magnanimous in victory .

The Returning Officer of for the Ekiti State governorship election, Professor Idowu Olayinka has declared Dr Kayode Fayemi the All Progressive Congress candidate as the winner of the election.

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) candidate in the Ekiti governorship election, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has won the governorship election according to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in majority of the 16 local councils in the state.

Following the Saturday Ekiti state election the Independent National Election Commission INEC has declared the following results of the state’s 16 Local Government Area.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to accept or announce any result that does not reflect the true votes cast at polling centres in Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State, warning that such would be a direct call to crisis.

VOTE-buying, multiple voting and ballot-snatching, yesterday, characterised the governorship election in Ekiti State which witnessed a large turn out of voters across the state.

The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has shut down the Ekiti State Broadcasting Service for breaching provision of the broadcasting code.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has warned social media writers and bloggers to stop publishing unauthorised results about the Ekiti election.
