First Lady of Lagos, Dame Abimbola Fashola, on Monday, commissioned seven blocks of modern classrooms for the pupils of Hope Primary School, Ikoyi, Lagos, donated by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) and furnished by the MTN Foundation, Social Investment vehicle of MTN Nigeria. The Foundation, which commenced the fourth phase of its Learning Facility Support Project, furnished the new seven-classroom block with modern furnishings including, desks, benches, chairs and tables. Other items include school bags, books, among others.

AGAINST the backdrop of the decline of education quality in the country, the Catholic Church has been charged to rise up again and provide the direction in delivering wholistic education to Nigerians. President of the Association of Catholic Diocesan Directors/Secretaries of Education (NACDDED), Very Rev. Richard Omolade, who gave the charge in Benin at a National Conference of the association, said “we can no longer fold our arms and continue to watch the downward spiral of our educational system.
