WHENEVER I look back at the last thirty years of selling our national assets and privatisation, I see a litany of lies, cathedrals of falsehood, labyrinths of trickery, monuments of treachery, systematic asset-stripping and serial deception.

I HAVE a soft spot for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, mainly because I was present at its birth. Nigeria had transited from long years of unaccountable military regimes that made little distinction between the national purse and private pockets.

OLD Britain is in need of a rebirth. A born-again Britain has the potentials to help steer the world away from endless conflicts and strife. I say Britain because the world’s most powerful nation, the United States presents us with a choice of either Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump. While it makes common sense for Americans to vote Clinton who at this week’s first Presidential Debate showed she is intellectually endowed in contrast to noisy Trump, she is not committed to a new world.

SUNDAY mornings for me, are times to relax and reflect. The hustles of the workdays and social callings of Saturday behind, Sundays are inviting and alluring. So it was on Sunday September 18. I sat upstairs in my home, laptop in front. My thoughts were about peace; peace of mind, local and international peace. I thought about the internally displaced in North East Nigeria, those dying in senseless wars in Syria, South Sudan and Yemen.
