A man asked his rich father for money to buy a car. The father wrote him a cheque and he bought a Jeep. Later he went to his father and asked him for money to buy a house. The father wrote him another cheque and he bought a beautiful mansion in an exclusive neighbourhood.
Have a walk with the Lord
Congratulations, you have seen the end of January. Welcome to February. This month, God will double your blessings in Jesus name. Often we are told as Christians to work for the Lord. Of course, there are several ways of working for the Lord. Some people are engaged in evangelism, others work in the church as […]

By Femi Aribisala God asked me to go and pray for a man called Kehinde who was dying of cancer. I automatically assumed he would get up from his deathbed immediately I prayed for him. But he did not. However, the man was convinced he was healed. So convinced, in fact, that he decided to […]
The stripes of a prophet
As a new believer, the Lord asked me one of his intriguing questions. He said: “Femi, would you like to be a prophet?”
I did not answer. The last thing I wanted to be was a prophet. I saw no glory in it but problems and difficulties. Later, I addressed the question indirectly. I told the Lord I did not want the ministry of Isaiah. To me, Isaiah’s ministry is frustrating. He is called to preach to people who will not receive his word.
Conversations with God
Roberts Liardon was a guest-minister at a church. Suddenly during the service, the Holy Spirit drew his attention to a woman. Then he told him something unusual. He told him to go and slap her. Liardon obeyed. He went to the woman and slapped her. There was a loud gasp in the church as she burst into tears.
Thirsting for the world
At the Feast of Tabernacles, Jesus stood and cried out, saying: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-39).
Positionings in Christ
When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, their eyes were opened and they became aware that they were naked.
Help! My saviour is after my life
Armed robbers attacked me on Lagos airport road and an anonymous Good Samaritan came to my rescue. I soon discovered this Good Samaritan was Jesus, someone I had previously gone to great lengths to avoid.
Crucified to the world
The angel says about Jesus: “He will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21). But if you were to ask Christians how Jesus saves us from our sins, you would get a confused silence. Or they may tell you he saves us from eternal damnation in hellfire.
Rejoicing over counterfeits
The kingdom of men is the antithesis of the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of men, the successful man is that man that has achieved something for himself. In the kingdom of God, the successful man is that man for whom Christ has achieved everything.
The purpose of evil
God says in Isaiah: “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7). Amos also asks rhetorically: “If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?” (Amos 3:6).
Making provision for the flesh (2)
Jesus says: “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23). This is tantamount to saying: “If anyone wants to follow me let him follow me.”
Love is not a feeling
Jesus gave us the eleventh commandment. He says: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35).
Making provision for the flesh
Jesus says: “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Many Christians read this passage and simply ignore it. What does Jesus want us to deny of ourselves? Are my self-denial requirements different from those of others or are they all the same?
Wonderful Christians!
Jimmy Peters was on his way back to Lagos from a wedding in Benin City. Suddenly, the road ahead was blocked. Before he could say “Jack Robinson,” some armed men sprang out of the bushes. Instinctively, Jimmy’s wife hid their baby on the floor of the backseat of the car; quickly throwing a cloth over him.
