FirstNation Airways says it will resume operations on Sunday evening, one month after it suspended flights to enable the aircraft fleet undergo engine maintenance.

The initial plan by a Nigerian pilot, Captain Ademilola Odujinrin to commence first Africa Solo flight round the world in a specially configured single Cirrus aircraft from Lagos, Nigeria has now been changed. The flight will now take off from Washington DC in the United States of America on Thursday 23rd June 2016 and can be tracked live on www.transcend.ng.

The helicopter could not continue the flight to Port Harcourt due to bad weather and was returning to Osubi airstrip when it collided with high tension cables belonging to Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) located along the road to Delta Steel Company, Ovwian, Aladja, Delta State. “The investigation identified one causal and two contributory factors while five safety recommendations were made.”
