Lassa fever kills 70 in 7 weeks, 318 confirmed cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) on Saturday confirmed that the country has recorded 70 deaths from Lassa fever in the first seven weeks of 2026, with 318 confirmed cases out of 1,469 suspected infections reported nationwide.
