Fashion designer Amadi Marvellous Harchimenum is expanding his luxury fashion brand, Amadi Atelier, from the United Kingdom, positioning the label around bespoke craftsmanship, premium garment construction and personalised client experiences.
Amadi, the founder and creative director of the fashion house established in 2021, says his approach to luxury fashion is rooted in quality, precision and long-term relationships with clients rather than mass production or extravagant pricing.
His journey into fashion began with hands-on experience at Korals Kreations in 2019, where he worked as a designer and creative assistant. During his time there, he was involved in client consultations, fabric selection, garment alterations and quality control, experiences he says shaped his understanding of bespoke fashion and customer-centred design.
He later joined Lady Biba Apparel, where he spent two years gaining experience in garment production, including cutting, sewing preparation, finishing and studio operations. The role, according to him, reinforced the importance of balancing meticulous craftsmanship with efficient production processes.
Drawing from these experiences, Amadi established Amadi Atelier with a business model centred on one-on-one client consultations. Each commission begins with discussions about a client’s lifestyle, occasion and personal style before progressing to sketching, draping, cutting and hand-finishing.
The designer says every garment produced by the brand is individually crafted, with an emphasis on exclusivity and avoiding repeated designs.
Now operating from the United Kingdom, Amadi is working to expand the international reach of the brand while maintaining its bespoke identity. He continues to oversee key stages of garment construction personally, arguing that the designer’s direct involvement is essential to preserving quality and authenticity.
Beyond his creative background, Amadi also brings business knowledge to the enterprise, leveraging his academic training in banking to manage budgeting and long-term sustainability as the fashion house seeks to grow its presence in the luxury market.
His expansion reflects a broader trend of Nigerian creatives building globally recognised brands by combining technical expertise with personalised craftsmanship and business discipline.
