Rest Realty unveils pojects to drive urban development, tourism

Rest Realty has outlined plans to expand its footprint in Nigeria’s real estate sector through a series of developments aimed at combining residential living, commercial activity and tourism-driven infrastructure.

The company, led by founder Stephen Akorede, said its approach focuses on creating integrated communities that blend housing, business opportunities and recreational facilities while addressing the needs of a growing urban population.

According to the firm, its developments are designed to go beyond conventional real estate by incorporating modern urban planning concepts, smart infrastructure and sustainable building practices.

“Our philosophy is that infrastructure should not merely provide shelter but create environments where people can live, work and thrive,” Akorede said.

One of the company’s flagship projects is the proposed Snow City Park in Ibadan, Oyo State, which it describes as a first-of-its-kind leisure and tourism destination in West Africa.

Situated on approximately one million square metres of land, the project is expected to include residential housing, office spaces, educational facilities, public parks and technology-focused workspaces.

The development is also planned to feature tourism and entertainment attractions alongside supporting infrastructure aimed at boosting economic activity and attracting visitors.

“This project is designed to be more than a leisure destination. It is a comprehensive development that combines housing, commerce, tourism and technology within a single ecosystem,” Akorede said.

Rest Realty said the project is expected to accommodate more than 1,000 families and create opportunities for businesses operating within the technology, hospitality and retail sectors.

The company added that it remains focused on developing projects that support long-term economic growth while promoting sustainable urban expansion.

“For investors, we are creating opportunities tied to the future of urban development in Nigeria. Our goal is to build assets that generate long-term value while contributing to economic growth,” Akorede said.

He added that sustainability remains central to the company’s development strategy.

“By prioritising durable infrastructure and environmentally conscious construction practices, we are positioning our projects to meet both present and future needs,” he said.

As Nigeria’s urban population continues to grow, industry observers say integrated developments that combine housing, commerce and recreation are becoming an increasingly important part of the country’s real estate landscape.

Rest Realty said it plans to continue expanding its portfolio through projects designed to support infrastructure development, tourism growth and modern urban living across the country.

“We are committed to building communities where businesses can flourish and families can enjoy a high quality of life. Our focus is not just on constructing buildings, but on creating environments that contribute to the future of Nigerian cities,” Akorede added.
