Twenty Ward Chairmen of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State have appealed to the party’s state and national leadership to respect the outcome of the party’s primary election for the Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency.

In a joint statement, the ward chairmen said their position reflected the views of party members at the grassroots who participated in the primary election.

They called on the party leadership to handle issues arising from the primary in line with the party’s constitution and internal democratic processes, stressing the need for transparency and fairness.

The ward chairmen said they believe Hon. Chief Ezeja Jeremiah Chidi enjoys broad support among members in the constituency and expressed confidence in his ability to mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They described Ezeja as a grassroots politician known for community engagement and philanthropy, adding that they consider him well-positioned to contribute to the party’s electoral campaign if eventually presented as its candidate.

The group urged party stakeholders to remain united and work towards strengthening the NDC in the constituency, emphasising that cohesion and adherence to due process would enhance the party’s prospects in future elections.

The statement was jointly signed by Attah Romanus, Pharmacist Marcus Iyida, Edeh Gilbert, Mama Kenneth, Eze Okechukwu, Ekwueme Elvis, Onoja Emmanuel, Ogbu Emeka, Tobias Urama, Eya Remigius, Odo Charles Obinna, Ojobo Ogonna Jude, Pastor Ossai Festus, Ugwuanyi Ekene, Ojobo Fidelis Ayogu, Abugu Michael, Eke Timothy, Ogangwu Jonathan, Agaba George and Eke Peter, who identified themselves as NDC Ward Chairmen in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.
