A group South East Coalition for Integrity and Peace , SECIP, has enjoined Presidents Bola Tinubu to appoint a former key player in the oil and gas sector , Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye into his government, stressing that he would add immense value to his administration.
The group in an open letter to the president signed by its Chairman Fredrick Macaulay Chimezie, said Engr Tombomieye would achieve substantial result in the pursuit of the federal government’s vision in key sectors like the blue economy and related areas.
The letter reads : “Nomination of Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye for an appointment in the Renewed Hope administration.
“Dear Mr. President, We, the members of the South East Coalition for Integrity and Peace, write this letter to first express our sincere gratitude to your administration for its commitment to an inclusive system of government.
“We commend your efforts in stabilizing the six geopolitical zones through strategic appointments designed to drive the “Renewed Hope” agenda toward a prosperous Nigeria.
“In light of your administration’s focus on revitalizing the national economy through the energy sector, we believe it is crucial to bring the most capable hands on deck. It is with this sense of patriotic duty that we formally nominate Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye for a position of service within this dispensation.
“Engr. Tombomieye, a distinguished son of Rivers State in the South-South geopolitical zone, is a seasoned technocrat in the oil and gas sector. His career is defined by unblemished Integrity throughout decades of high-level service at the NNPC, he has maintained a record of transparency and has never been involved in financial misconduct or legal trials.
“He has a record of proven expertise: He possesses a deep, practical understanding of Nigeria’s energy landscape, which is vital for the nation’s economic stability.Loyalty and Patriotism.
” His passion for job delivery and his unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria makes him an ideal candidate for national service.His antecedent and professional trajectory include his professional background.
“He is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt.
“His career in the NNPC runs over three decades. Tombomieye has over 30 years of experience in the industry, starting at Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) in 1991, later moving to Brass LNG Ltd, and eventually serving as the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD), and later the Executive Vice President, Upstream (formerly Chief Operating Officer) for NNPC. He is an acclaimed expertise: He is recognized for his contributions to production optimization, commercial business management, and for his role as an “unseen hand” in navigating host community issues in the Niger Delta.
“He holds the traditional title of Amabelemabo 1 of Bille Kingdom and has been honored with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). Between 2025-2026, he has been involved in community development in the Bille Kingdom, opening the Agiri Festival, and was inducted into the 2025 Hive Africa Hall of Fame.
“He is often described as a workaholic with a reputation for integrity and mentoring in the energy sector.
“Possible sectors Engr Adokiye Tombomieye can thrive are:1. Energy sector 2. Marine and blue economy We appeal to the Presidency to consider this nomination, as we are fully confident that Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye will deliver excellently on any task assigned to him. Our nation currently requires such experienced and steady hands to move the “Renewed Hope” vision from concept to reality.
