Former LG Vice-Chairman, Kappo calls for support for APC candidate, Onilude

Mrs Elizabeth Kappo, the former Vice-Chairman, Badagry Local Government, has called on the people of Badagry and its environs to support the House of Representatives candidate, Hon Olusegun Onilude in the forthcoming general election.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Badagry, Kappo thanked the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and party faithful for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him throughout the primary election process.

“The entire Badagry Constituency has once again demonstrated confidence, trust, and belief in visionary leadership by supporting and electing Dr Olusegun Onilude as the APC candidate to represent our great constituency in the forthcoming 2027 general election for the House of Representatives.

“On behalf of Onilude, I sincerely appreciate the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), party faithful, delegates, stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women groups, and the good people of Badagry for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him throughout the primary election process.

“This victory is not merely personal. It is a victory for unity, continuity, development, and the collective aspirations of the people of Badagry Constituency.

Hon. Onilude remains a tested administrator, grassroots mobiliser, and experienced leader whose impactful achievements as the former Chairman of Badagry Local Government continue to stand as visible evidence of his commitment to good governance and community development,” she said.

She said that under Onilude’s leadership as former council chairman, Badagry witnessed the construction of a modern two-storey secretariat building serving as offices for the local government administration.

“The remodelling of the over 80-year-old Badagry Town Hall into the prestigious Badagry City Hall, construction of numerous roads, development of schools and modern health centres with accommodation for staff.

“Also, youth and women empowerment programmes, bursaries for tertiary institution students, yearly purchase of JAMB forms for not less than 300 students, sponsorship of women to annual national seminars

“Purchase of SUVs for the eight traditional rulers in Badagry Local Government, procurement of graders to open up rural communities, provision of utility vehicles, transformers, and several other developmental projects across the constituency.

“These achievements clearly reflect capacity, competence, accessibility, and a genuine passion for the progress of Badagry and its people.

“As we approach the 2027 general election, we humbly call on all sons and daughters of Badagry Constituency, irrespective of political, religious, or social affiliations, to unite and support Hon. Onilude.

“This will enable him to secure victory at the polls and give Badagry a strong, purposeful, and people-oriented representation at the Nigeria House of Representatives.

“We firmly believe that with your continued support, Onilude will provide effective representation, quality legislation, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, educational advancement, economic opportunities, and inclusive governance that will positively impact every ward and community within the constituency.

“Together, let us build a better, stronger, and more prosperous Badagry,” she said.
