A two day medical outreach has ended in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta state, with the medical team disclosing that some among over 400 beneficiaries were diagnosed and treated for medical conditions they were unaware of suffering.

The health intervention, a charity by Amiwa Foundation in collaboration with Ajayi Adebayo of Webiit Technologies, provided free consultation and counseling, drug dispensing, eye screening, distribution of glasses and treatment for various ailments.

The Medical Team Lead, Dr. Fidelis Chidi, said a lot of the beneficiaries were diagnosed and treated for various ailments many weren’t aware of having.

“If we had not come, they would not have known. So we are giving them drugs free of charge and attending to all the patients. That is what Omiwa Foundation is known for” Chidi said.

At the Civic Center venue, Nkechi Madu Chukwura, Brand Ambassador, said, “Omiwa Foundations has passion for reaching out to rural communities and we have been to many, so we are glad to be here.”

Intervention partner, Adebayo whose mother hails from the community, expressed his passion for, “Youth empowerment, teaching AI and educating people on technology.

“So when I got information that I can work with Omiwa Foundation to bring health care, I felt an opportunity to make my community a better place. You can see we have a lot of persons with different ailments and we are reaching out to them.”

Among beneficiaries, Solomon Agbevwe and Margaret Uti, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the initiative, calling on other organisations and public spirited individuals to emulate the gesture.
