Today, as the Managing Director of Leadway Property Development & Interiors Ltd and Founder/CEO of Qualassets Realty, Amaka is not only building properties across multiple Nigerian cities, she is rebuilding trust in an industry often challenged by skepticism. Her rise reflects a blend of grit, integrity, and a forward-thinking embrace of technology in real estate.
In this interview with Vanguard Nigeria, she opens up about the defining moments that shaped her path, the challenges that tested her resolve, and the vision driving her mission to transform real estate into a more transparent and client-centered space.
Can you walk us through your journey into real estate?
My journey started from administrative roles, where I developed discipline and attention to detail. Over time, I transitioned into real estate through brokerage, working closely with clients and developers.
That experience gave me deep insight into how the industry works, both the opportunities and the gaps.
What motivated you to take the leap into entrepreneurship?
The decision was driven by experience. While working in brokerage, we sold properties to many clients, but there were situations where clients faced challenges; allocation issues, changes in location, and inconsistencies that created frustration.
Because we were directly connected to the clients, it affected us personally. It became a matter of integrity; proving that real estate can be done differently, with honesty and transparency.
That was what pushed me to start my own company; to build a system that protects clients and restores trust.
What were some of the major challenges you faced while building your business?
One of the biggest challenges was rebuilding trust. Some clients had previous negative experiences, so there was a level of doubt.
We had to go above and beyond; working multiple times harder; to prove ourselves. We focused on delivering quickly, ensuring documentation within days, and maintaining clarity at every stage.
It was not easy, but consistency helped us gradually earn people’s confidence.
How did you begin to overcome those challenges?
Technology played a major role. We introduced systems that allow clients to select their plots themselves, make payments transparently, and receive instant documentation.
By removing uncertainty from the process, we were able to reduce common issues and build credibility over time.
You now run a growing real estate company. How does that feel?
It is very humbling. When I reflect on the journey, it reminds me that growth is possible with resilience and consistency.
At the same time, it comes with responsibility; to continue delivering, to maintain trust, and to keep improving our systems.
As a woman in business, what has your experience been like?
It has been a journey of learning and growth. The industry is demanding, but I have focused on building competence and staying consistent.
I believe that with dedication and professionalism, anyone can create their own space.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Focus on integrity and consistency. Challenges will come, but how you respond to them defines your growth.
Also, be willing to learn and adapt. Every experience, whether good or bad, is an opportunity to improve.
What is your vision going forward?
My vision is to continue building a system that reflects trust, transparency, and professionalism. I want to grow the business while also contributing to a better real estate industry.
