…Signaling Strong PDP Acceptance
The governorship campaign tour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, continued on Friday with well-attended rallies in Ado Local Government Area, the state capital, and Ikere Local Government Area, attracting a massive turnout of supporters and residents ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
The campaign venues witnessed large gatherings of party faithful, youths, women groups, traders, artisans, and community leaders who trooped out in their numbers to receive Dr. Oluyede and his campaign team. The impressive turnout reflected the growing acceptance and popularity of Dr. Oluyede across the state as preparations intensify ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Dr. Oluyede expressed appreciation for the warm reception and assured supporters that their confidence in his candidacy would not be misplaced. He reiterated his commitment to delivering purposeful, inclusive, and people-oriented governance if elected governor.
Dr. Oluyede urged eligible voters to remain actively engaged in the democratic process and to mobilize support for the PDP at the polls, stressing that voter participation would be crucial in shaping the future of the state.
He also appealed to residents who are yet to obtain or collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently facilitating registration and collection exercises.
“Your PVC is your voice and your power. I encourage everyone who has not collected their voter card to take advantage of this opportunity provided by INEC,” Dr. Oluyede stated.
Speaking on governance and economic concerns, Dr. Oluyede promised that his administration would review and address tax policies introduced by the outgoing government, which he said have placed heavy burdens on traders, artisans, and small business owners.
According to Dr. Oluyede, his administration would prioritize policies that promote economic growth, support businesses, create employment opportunities, and improve the overall standard of living of the people.
He further highlighted key aspects of his manifesto, including job creation, youth empowerment, improved healthcare delivery, quality education, agricultural development, infrastructure renewal, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, and enhanced security across the state.
Dr. Oluyede also pledged to run a transparent, accountable, and inclusive government that would ensure equitable development across all parts of the state.
“Our mission is to build a state where opportunities are available to all, where our youths can thrive, and where governance truly serves the people,” Dr. Oluyede said.
The rallies concluded with renewed enthusiasm from supporters, who expressed confidence in Dr. Oluyede’s vision and pledged continued mobilization for the PDP ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
