Benue APC united behind Tinubu, Alia ahead of 2027 – Ex envoy, Tarzoor

By Peter Duru, Makurdi

Former Nigerian Ambassador to Namibia and Benue State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Tinubu 2027, Terhemen Tarzoor, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State remains united and fully committed to the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Amb. Tarzoor who spoke to journalists in Makurdi shortly after the distribution of election materials for the APC presidential primary, described the exercise as peaceful, organised and successful across the state.

According to him, party members turned out massively to participate in the exercise, while election materials were adequately distributed to all local governments and ward headquarters under the supervision of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

“The governor was personally there to ensure that all the local governments received materials for onward distribution to the Wards,” Tarzoor said.

He stated that reports reaching him from various Ward centres indicated that voting materials arrived on time and party members participated actively in the process.

“At all the ward headquarters, materials were available and people were fully mobilised to vote for Mr. President. Of course, there are contestants in the race, but from what we are seeing, my principal, the leader of the Renewed Hope movement, is leading overwhelmingly,” he added.

The former envoy maintained that the APC in Benue State was “100 percent united” under the leadership of Governor Alia, stressing that party stakeholders and members had resolved to work together for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“All APC members in Benue State have accepted and aligned behind their leader, Governor Hyacinth Alia. There is no doubt about his leadership capacity. The party is speaking with one voice that Bola Tinubu should return to continue the work he is doing for Nigeria,” he said.

Reacting to complaints by some party members over alleged irregularities during the primary process, Tarzoor dismissed the criticisms, saying perceptions about elections often depend on individual interests and outcomes.

He said, “Irregularities are relative in politics. When the process favours some people, they see no problem, but when it does not, complaints will naturally come

“No electoral system is completely perfect, but from my personal assessment, the primaries were free, fair and conducted peacefully without rancour or loss of lives.”

Tarzoor also commended the level of mobilisation across the state, describing the turnout of party faithful as impressive and a clear indication of the support President Tinubu and the APC continue to enjoy in Benue State.
