WARRI—Students of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, under the aegis of Bomadi Local Government Student Association, BOLGASA, have endorsed the lawmaker representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The students who gathered from their respective educational institutions at the Delta State College of Education, Warri, on Tuesday, expressed that the lawmaker has been a tremendous support to the student union over the years, particularly during times of challenges and needs, both collectively and individually.

Some of the institutions from where the students came for the meeting included the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State; Novena University; Niger Delta University in Amassoma; Delta State University, Abraka and the University of Africa in Toru-Orua, along with numerous other higher education institutions across the nation. They convened at the Dr. Ebisine Hall within the College of Education premises to discuss their position on the political affairs concerning the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.

After deliberations, the student body resolved to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in endorsing the lawmaker as the consensus candidate for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency race in 2027.

The President of BOLGASA, Comrade Atoukudu Joshua, disclosed in his address that the purpose of the meeting was to express their solidarity with the lawmaker regarding the APC’s decision, which endorsed the lawmaker last week as the party’s consensus candidate for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency in 2027.

He said: “Our decision to back the state APC’s decision regarding the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency is not coming as a surprise. We have deliberated on the lawmaker’s performance over the years in various areas and he is not found wanting. The party, having tipped the lawmaker as a consensus candidate, we deemed it expedient to back the decision of the party because he deserved it.

“Mutu is a man who holds BOLGASA close to his heart. He revived the union by providing the necessary support when it had already fallen apart. That is why our decision is unanimous, welcoming our diligent legislator with open arms to continue his commendable work”.

The Executive President of the National Union of Kalanama Students, NAUKALSA, Akugbene, Comrade Wisdom Ayakeme Tamaraudeinyefa, emphasized in his remarks that the lawmaker’s benevolent nature has endeared him to his people, resulting in overwhelming support and endorsements.

“Mutu is student-friendly, providing monthly bursaries along with various forms of financial and moral support to the student body in both the Bomadi and Patani local government areas.

“I’m pleased that the party made the right decision by granting him the party flag to continue his commendable work for his constituents. Mutu has never let us down, and we remain appreciative of his representation.”

“I must say that he is a man who understands the dynamics of politics and he is doing very well his constituents. He has been reaching out to about 70 to 80% of the students of Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency”.

In her speech, Ms. Bubu Timipre, Executive Vice President of the National Union of Kpakiama Students (NUKS), expressed that her union supported the endorsement because the lawmaker had been a mentor to all students in Bomadi local government area, emphasizing that “in his own capacity, he has ensured students receive bursaries at the end of each month.”

Comrade Otuku Isaiah, a member of BOLGASA, spoke in similar vein, advocating for the lawmaker’s re-election in 2027.

“We desire a suitable successor for Mutu, but none has emerged yet; he is the finest politician we have in Bomadi Local Government Area. Let him continue his commendable work beyond 2027 until we find a better replacement, whom we hope will emulate Mutu’s performance for his constituents.”

However, the highlight of the meeting was a motion endorsing the lawmaker’s continuity, proposed by the Executive President of NUKS, Comrade Eteba Joshua Ebiseimokumoh, and seconded by Comrades Otoku Isaiah and Z. Tamaraudeinyefa. The motion was unanimously adopted by the members of BOLGASA.
