As Christians across Nigeria mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the General Superintendent of Holy Spirit Mission (The Happy Family Nation), Charles Ighele, and the Christian Faith Reporters Association (CFRA) have urged Nigerians to embrace values of justice, accountability, and peaceful coexistence.

In separate Easter messages, the cleric and the association encouraged citizens and leaders to reflect on the significance of the season and recommit to ethical conduct and national development.

In a statement titled “Easter: The Triumph of Righteousness,” Bishop Ighele said the message of Easter highlights the importance of personal responsibility and moral renewal, urging Nigerians to make choices that promote the common good.

He noted that national progress is closely linked to values such as integrity, fairness, and respect for others, and encouraged citizens to uphold these principles in their daily lives.

The cleric also called on leaders and the wider society to prioritise actions that foster unity and long-term development.

Meanwhile, the CFRA expressed concern over recent security challenges in parts of the country, noting that the Easter period is a time traditionally associated with peace and reflection.

In a statement signed by its President, Adeola Ogunlade, the association emphasised the importance of protecting lives and strengthening efforts to promote safety and stability.

“The value of human life should remain central in all actions and decisions,” the association stated, while encouraging continued efforts to address security concerns.

CFRA also expressed sympathy with families affected by recent incidents of violence and called for measures that support justice and accountability within the framework of the law.

While acknowledging ongoing efforts by relevant authorities, the association noted the need for sustained and coordinated strategies to improve security outcomes.

It further urged Nigerians to use the Easter season to promote peace, unity, and mutual respect across communities.

“Even in challenging times, there is a need to sustain hope and work collectively towards national progress,” the statement added.

The Easter celebration commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is widely regarded by Christians as a period for reflection, renewal, and commitment to positive values.
