The people of Ozoro and Otor-Owhe Kingdoms in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously endorsed Sir (Builder) Blessing Oghale Obomovo as their sole candidate for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Tuesday during a well-attended gathering at Opute Hall in Ozoro, where political leaders, traditional authorities, women groups, and youth representatives converged to welcome home their illustrious son.
Obomovo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, hails from Otor-Owhe Kingdom paternally and Ozoro Kingdom maternally. He is vying for the Isoko North and South Federal Constituency seat.
The endorsement cut across all five blocs of Ozoro Kingdom — Uruto, Erovie (his maternal home), Etevie, Urude, and Orumudhe — with representatives from each bloc formally declaring support for Obomovo as the consensus candidate.
A motion for the endorsement was moved by Friday Arah and seconded by Sir (Chief) Raphael Oro Afemari (JP). The representative of the Ovie of Ozoro, Chief Solomon Akeni, put the question to the people, who responded with a resounding “YES!”
Speaking on behalf of the kingdom, President-General of the Ozoro Progressive Union, Berkley Asiafa, said the people had spoken with one voice and would mobilise fully to ensure Obomovo’s victory.
At Otor-Owhe Kingdom, his paternal home, the community also gave Obomovo a rousing endorsement, describing his ambition as timely and aligned with the aspirations of the people. The kingdom, under the leadership of Wilfred Atunu and revered elders, offered blessings and prayers for his success.
In his remarks, Obomovo expressed deep gratitude to both kingdoms for the overwhelming support.
“Today, I returned home and Ozoro spoke. What began as a hosting of the OghaleIsoko2027 team became a clear, united declaration from my mother’s land,” he said.
He pledged not to take their trust for granted and promised to carry everyone along, adding that he would provide fair and respectful representation for the entire Isoko Federal Constituency.
The endorsements were witnessed by key stakeholders, including palace representatives, traditional title holders, women and youth leaders, and members of the OghaleIsoko2027 political structure.
