NCDMB 5-star hotels ‘ll boost tourism potentials in Bayelsa, N-Delta-ES, Ogbe

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has expressed confidence that the NCDMB five star hotel under construction l in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital will boost the tourism potentials of the state and the Niger Delta region.

Ogbe who hinted that the hotel is expected to be completed in December, described the hotel has a priority project for the Board, and urged all partners to work in synergy to actualized the completion and takeoff of the hotel as scheduled .

The NCDMB chief executive stated this during the site inspection visit and meeting with strategic partners from Edison Hotel and Property, and Megastar Technical and Construction Company, at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Friday.

Ogbe, “The project will be completed by December this year, I believe most of the crucial part of this project has been resolved in terms of scope of work, financing constructing strategies have all been concluded.

“The team that comes from outside the country my expectations is to make sure that everyday we work together to make sure this project is completed and the activities you want us to progress with as you leave to ensure no more stoppage of work.

“I am happy to have the Chairman Edison Management Company here, it shows the level you want this project to be. I will be here to listen to every issues we are having and like us to work as a team and resolve every issue to ensure the smooth completion of this project.

“This project is crucial to the Board, Yenagoa, Bayelsa, the Niger Delta and Nigeria, with this hotel functioning it will serve as a tourist centre and boost the tourism potentials of Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta.

“It is my dream as the ES of NCDMB to make this project work and I want all hands to be on deck to make sure we actualize it.”

In his speech, the leader of the hotel management partners and Managing Director of Edison Hotel and Property, South Africa, Mr. Reddy Vathasallum, said they are delighted with the progress of work at the construction site, and commended executive secretary of the NCDMB for his visionary leadership.

Vathasallum said: “We are inspired by your leadership, you are an amazing visionary and we want to assure you that we will deliver. It is just nine months, we know the quality, your synergies and we can assure you that our team is working day and night.

“We will provide all the information working with the contractor and the professional team to make sure that your dream becomes a reality, a kind of reality that Bayelsa government will be proud of.

“We want to create an understanding, like the ES said we want a world class hotel in Bayelsa. I have walked around the site, its clean and safe looking at the building and the quality of the building and the fact that the executive secretary accept the quality of the building shows the contractors have quality standard.

“We are very excited to work side by side, we will make our resources available to our team and we will deliver this project. We believe that there is no obstacle we cannot overcome and we are going to deliver quality as the same philosophy with the executive secretary.”
