The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has praised the expansion drive of the management of an Osun State-based College of Health Technology, describing it as forward-looking and worthy of emulation.

The commendation came during an inspection visit by an NBTE panel to the Ikirun College of Health Technology for a resource verification exercise. The panel was led by the Board’s Director of Programmes, Mr. Abdullahi Musa.

In a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Adewuyi Simeon, the panel described the college’s level of preparedness as impressive and reflective of a clear vision for growth.

The team particularly applauded the institution’s expansion plans and efforts to introduce programmes aimed at addressing critical health needs in society.

The panel also encouraged the management to sustain the momentum by investing in staff development, upgrading facilities and adopting innovative teaching methods to enhance the quality of graduates.

“With strong leadership, a clear academic vision and a commitment to excellence, the college is well positioned to remain a leading institution in training competent and entrepreneurial health professionals,” the panel noted.

Earlier, the Rector of the college, Mr. Salaudeen Oyewale, expressed appreciation to the NBTE for its continued support for technical and vocational education in Nigeria.

He highlighted the institution’s steady growth and strategic focus on producing skilled health professionals capable of addressing emerging public health challenges.

Oyewale added that the introduction of the National Diploma (ND) programme in Health Education and Promotion aligns with national priorities in preventive healthcare and community-based interventions.

He assured the NBTE team of the college’s commitment to maintaining standards, quality assurance and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
