As Nigeria continues to grapple with the growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals, Covenant Mandate College of Health Technology and Medical Science, Apata, Ibadan, has announced the commencement of admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session, positioning itself as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s health sector.

The Ibadan-based institution disclosed that applications and screening exercises are now open to candidates across the country seeking professional training in critical areas of healthcare and medical sciences.

In a statement issued on Monday, the management said the college, which is fully government-approved and accredited, is expanding opportunities for young Nigerians interested in building careers in the healthcare industry amid increasing national concerns over manpower shortages in hospitals and community health centres.

Speaking during the commissioning of the institution’s 275-capacity Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre, the Chief Executive Officer, Rev’d Dr Mercy Ajani, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to producing skilled healthcare practitioners capable of meeting both local and national healthcare needs.

The institution stated that accredited programmes currently available include Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW), Junior Community Health Extension Worker (JCHEW), Medical Imaging Technology, Medical Laboratory Science and Health Information Management, among others.

According to the management, the college is focused on combining academic excellence with hands-on practical training to prepare students for the realities of Nigeria’s evolving healthcare system.

It added that students would benefit from experienced lecturers, modern learning facilities and industry-standard practical exposure designed to equip graduates with relevant professional competencies.

The college encouraged interested applicants nationwide to take advantage of the admission window and complete their application process through the institution’s official portal.
