ABUJA – AS the United States-Israel -Iran war continues to escalate, the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, yesterday, said they are watching the developments and impacts on food prices in Nigeria.
The National President, AFAN, Mohammed Magaji, in a chat with Vanguard said the association is also concerned about the way it is going and whether it will affect relatively low food prices in Nigeria.
Magaji said: “This one we
need to study the development of the war between the United States and Iran in the next few days.
“So that from there we analyse and make our focus whether
it is going to affect the food prices or not in Nigeria.
“We know our position, but at least let’s give another two or three days.”
Meanwhile, speaking on the plan for farmers ahead of the dry season farming, he said, “The plan for farmers ahead of the wet season farming,as wet season farming is almost going, as a matter of fact, we are supposed to have a meeting with the Honourable Minister who is going to unveil this year’s programme.”
He also added that the Association is waiting for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to see the interventions that will be made for farmers during the wet season farming.
