Group endorses Emuoboh Gbagi for 2027 Delta Assembly seat

Group endorses Emuoboh Gbagi for 2027 Delta Assembly seat

A political group, the United Ughelli South Political Reawakening Forum (UUPRF), has thrown its weight behind Chief Emuoboh Gbagi, urging him to contest the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election to represent Ughelli South constituency.

In a press statement issued in Ughelli and signed by Chairman Mr. Martins Ovedje and Secretary Mr. Onajite Ejaiita, the group described Gbagi as “the best man for the job,” citing his intellectual capacity, business acumen, and proven track record.

The forum lamented the slow pace of infrastructural development in Ughelli South, attributing it to poor representation over the years.

“Ughelli South is an ancient city in Delta State and ought to have seen better infrastructural growth than what we have on the ground today if men with sound business acumen like Chief Emuoboh Gbagi had been elected,” the statement read.

UUPRF singled out Comrade Reuben Izeze as the only past representative who performed creditably under former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration, while criticising others for failing to deliver meaningful dividends.

The group conducted what it described as thorough research and concluded that Gbagi—son of the late business mogul and former Minister Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi—possesses the integrity, business instincts, and vision needed to drive transformation.

“We have followed his track records after the exit of the late Patriarch of the Gbagi dynasty and we have come to the realization that he has kept to the family tradition of consolidating business growth and nurturing new ideas to diversify,” the statement said.

UUPRF expressed confidence that Gbagi would deliver “transformational growth” in social, infrastructural, and economic development if elected.

“We are therefore using this unique opportunity to call on the good people of Ughelli South to give their support to Chief Emuoboh Gbagi, to represent them in the House of Assembly as from 2027, in order to begin to experience new lease of life,” the group concluded.

The endorsement signals early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls in Ughelli South, with the group positioning Gbagi as the candidate best equipped to reverse years of perceived under-development in the constituency.
