As part of efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance accessibility, the Chairman of Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Prince Idris Balogun, alongside the Vice Chairman, Omotayo Ayinde, has commenced a 100-road grading project across the council area.
The initiative is aimed at improving road connectivity and easing movement for residents within the LCDA. To accelerate development, the administration recently acquired an excavator and a roller, a move that is already yielding visible results in several communities.
Residents have expressed excitement over the development, noting that the grading of roads is gradually transforming the area and improving daily mobility.
The grading operations are being personally supervised by the Vice Chairman, Omotayo Ayinde; the Chief of Staff, Lukmon Idowu; the Leader of the House, Anike Hassan; and Semiu Ayinla. Other councillors involved in the supervision include Comrade Bolaji Jacob (Egbe/Liasu Ward E), Monsuru (Ward B), Segun Sanni (Ward D), and Bankole (Ward A), alongside the Vice Chairman’s Personal Assistant, AY, and members of the LCDA engineering team.
According to the council, the close supervision is to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and in line with required standards, thereby improving road safety and supporting economic activities within the area.
The grading exercise, which began in Ward A, has already covered several roads, including Prince Akeem Balogun Street, Baale Musa Abogunloko Street, Olanipekun Street, Primate Ayodele Street, Gloryland Road, Saliu Balogun Street, and the Powerline road linking Gloryland Estate to Isheri Olofin. Other areas benefiting from the project include Egba, Bakare-Idowu, and Greenland Estate.
The council said the project will extend to all five wards within the LCDA to ensure improved road infrastructure and safer movement for residents.
The 100-road grading initiative, according to the council leadership, reflects its commitment to community development and people-oriented governance in Egbe/Idimu LCDA.
