‘I have had the best experiences of my life on movie sets’

Nollywood actor Ray Emodi shocked fans days ago, as he disclosed his decision to quit acting and pursue a career in music.

In a viral video shared on his Instagram page, Emodi cited safety concerns and mounting family pressure as the reasons behind his difficult decision.

“I have had the best experiences of my life on set. It’s not easy when they call you to return to movie sets. But I have to stop saying yes. I love my fans and I love music too,” he said.

Emodi explained that he had been filming in dangerous environments, including a town where gunshots were heard nearby while production continued. He also mentioned that his family, which has strict rules and a reputation to protect, does not support his decision to pursue music.

Despite the challenges, Emodi is determined to follow his passion for music. He has already released several singles and has upcoming projects, including the 2025 hit song “On the Road” and the 2026 EP “On It”.

“I want you guys to come with me on this journey. I’m not leaving you people, but I just want to go and make music for the dance floor and for women to wind their waists and men to follow suit,” he urged his fans.
