BENIN CITY – THE people of Adesagbon Community in Uhunmwonde local government area of Edo State have appealed to Governor Monday Okpebholo to extend his developmental strides for the state with the construction of their roads, provision of potable water and other amenities to them.
The people stated this as residents and well-wishers from within and outside the community gathered to witness the opening of the newly constructed town hall and the presentation of awards to outstanding leaders in the area.
Speaking, the Odionwere (eldest man) of the community, Pa. Pullen Agho who officially commissioned the town hall, described the project as a major step towards strengthening unity and development
In his welcome remarks, the Secretary of the community, Comrade Osarodion Obosa commended the okaighele (Youth Leader), Comrade Theophilus Evbuomwan for initiating the project and he was also honoured with an award of recognition for his efforts at bringing development to the community.
Several others awards were presented to leaders who have played key roles in promoting peace, development and cooperation in the community
Speaking with journalists, Comrade Evbuomwan, expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to the people for their support adding that the new town hall symbolizes unity and progress, and pledged to remain committed to pushing the community forward.
He said “This project is a landmark project that would enhance the unity and progress of our community. I am also using this medium to appeal to Governor Monday Okpebholo to extend his development activities to our community and its environs.
“We know and we are seeing what he is doing in different parts of the state in the three senatorial districts, we don’t want to forget us here. We need roads, we need good water for the people. If we have these it will go a long way in helping our people.” He said.
The community leaders, including Elders and women, thanked God for the successful project and praised Evbuomwan for his vision and leadership in the community.
