Winhomes Global Services Limited has refuted circulating reports alleging that its estate has been taken over by certain subscribers or groups, describing the claims as misleading and inaccurate.
In a public notice issued recently, the company stated that Winhomes Estate remains its exclusive property and has not been transferred or relinquished to any individual or group.
The company explained that a recent incident involved a group of individuals, including some claiming to be subscribers, who entered the estate premises, accompanied by uniformed military personnel. It characterized the entry as unauthorized and unlawful.
Winhomes emphasized that the Nigerian military lacks authority to intervene in civil property or land disputes. The company asserted that the estate is a developed property with valid title, including a Governor’s Consent from the Lagos State Government.
It clarified that all subscriber payments were made directly to Winhomes Global Services Limited, and any group referring to itself as an “Association of WINHOMES Landowners” holds no legal recognition from the company.
Regarding the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road Project, Winhomes noted that any government compensation for affected land would be directed solely to the company as the registered title holder. It committed to transparently handling and distributing any applicable portions to affected subscribers in line with legal requirements.
The company condemned actions such as forcible entry, intimidation, harassment, and damage to property, stating these constitute offenses under Nigerian law. It reported that estate gates and facilities sustained damage during the incident.
Winhomes confirmed it has initiated legal proceedings related to the unauthorized entry, involvement of armed personnel, alleged threats, and property damage.
The company thanked subscribers who have remained peaceful and law-abiding, assuring them that the matter will be addressed through the courts and lawful channels.
“Winhomes remains committed to its subscribers and will pursue justice through proper legal means,” the statement concluded.
