The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Trig Energy and Logistics Ltd, Mr. Humphrey Adewumi, has congratulated Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his recognition as Best Governor of the Year (Education) by New Telegraph Newspaper, describing the award as a validation of transformational leadership.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday, Adewumi said the honour represents more than ceremonial recognition, noting that it reflects measurable progress and visible reforms within the education sector and beyond.

According to him, Governor Okpebholo’s administration has, within a short period, translated campaign promises into tangible outcomes, particularly in public education, which he described as “the bedrock of sustainable development.”

He pointed to the revitalisation of public school infrastructure across Edo State as a major milestone, stating that schools once characterised by neglect have been transformed into safer and more dignified learning environments.

According to Adewumi, “The recruitment of thousands of teachers has reinvigorated the academic landscape and restored confidence in public education,” he said.

Beyond education, he highlighted ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating economic activity across the state. He also referenced targeted healthcare interventions designed to enhance service delivery, as well as renewed emphasis on agricultural development and support for local enterprises.

Adewumi described the award as a public affirmation of Governor Okpebholo’s clarity of vision, responsiveness, and commitment to inclusive governance.

His words, “This recognition celebrates measurable impact and thoughtful leadership. Edo State is witnessing deliberate rebuilding and progressive transformation under his stewardship,” he added.

Governor Okpebholo was recently named Best Governor of the Year (Education) by the management of New Telegraph Newspaper, in recognition of reforms and investments in the sector.

Adewumi, who also chairs the Teddy Adewumi Foundation and leads the Ted Force Movement, concluded by urging the governor to sustain the momentum of development initiatives across the state.
