The Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is set to launch an educational outreach programme across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State aimed at improving pupils’ academic performance.
The initiative, which will cover the state’s 18 local government areas, is expected to benefit over 120,000 pupils through the distribution of writing materials and other essential learning tools.
The programme is designed to enhance access to quality education, ease the financial burden on parents—particularly those at the grassroots—and strengthen learning outcomes among young learners.
Speaking on the initiative, the Convener of BTO Educational Support, Comrade Eniola Orowole, described the programme as timely and impactful, noting that its benefits would be widely felt across communities in the state.
According to him, the outreach is structured to ensure that no child is left behind due to the lack of basic educational resources, while also improving the overall learning experience for pupils.
Orowole added that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which places strong emphasis on human capital development and inclusive growth through education.
“This development is timely and will significantly support parents, especially at the grassroots level. It will also encourage greater commitment to providing quality education for children,” he said.
He noted that the programme is expected to have a broad impact across communities and contribute to improved academic performance statewide.
Orowole further disclosed that details regarding the schedule and implementation across the three senatorial districts would be communicated in due course.
