Nigerian students who are tech savvy may have the opportunity to hone their skills and sharpen their tech creativity at the forthcoming Cavista Technologies Hackathon in February.
The event provides a dynamic platform for undergraduate students in tertiary institutions to collaborate, innovate, and build impactful solutions to real-world challenges.
The competition which is in its 4th edition is open to undergraduates from tertiary institutions in Lagos and surrounding areas who possess tech skills and have a passion for problem-solving.
Cavista said participants in this 4th edition will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and work as a team to develop real-world solutions that make a difference.
Lucky students will be shortlisted to form part of the teams that will participate in a 24-hour hackathon, spread over two days, with millions of naira in cash prizes for the winners and runners up.
Making the announcement, the General Manager, Cavista Technologies, Oyebola Morakinyo, reveals that the 2026 edition will be even better than the last edition and is open to six tertiary intuitions in Lagos State and it’s environs.
“At Cavista Tech, our goal is to discover, empower and celebrate Nigeria’s tech talents by providing the platform where young tech innovators and enthusiasts can showcase their creative and problem-solving skills. Through this initiative, we foster collaboration, entrepreneurship and digital transformation”.
Morakinyo continues: “2025 edition was phenomenal but we promise you that the 2026 edition will be elevated, especially with the support we have from the Ministry of Youth Development and tech experts like Inyinoluwa Aboyeji, Co-Founder Andela and Future Africa, to mention a few, who will be present to cheer on and mentor the young problem hackers,” she concludes.
