A group of prominent Nigerians drawn from the six geopolitical zones, the Federal Capital Territory and the diaspora has unveiled the National Agenda for Tinubu 2027 (NAFT.27), a nationwide civic movement aimed at consolidating and advancing the reform programme of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The unveiling, which took place in Abuja on Saturday, January 18, 2026, was held under the theme, “Managing the verifiable gains of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 32 months in office, as evidenced by the democratic scorecard of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
NAFT.27 is described as a broad-based, non-ethnic and non-religious national platform and intellectual-property think tank committed to deepening public understanding and ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda, while mobilising elected representatives across the three tiers of government to effectively manage and consolidate the gains of their electoral mandate.
The movement said it is designed to systematically articulate and safeguard what it described as the verifiable achievements of the Tinubu administration over the last 32 months, particularly in the areas of policy reforms, institutional rebuilding, economic recalibration and democratic consolidation across ministries, departments and agencies.
Speaking to journalists during the unveiling, the National Convener of NAFT.27, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim, MFR, said the initiative was conceived as a strategic civic intervention to help Nigerians properly contextualise governance performance, especially in light of the economic and institutional challenges inherited by the administration in 2023.
According to him, NAFT.27 represents a novel concept in Nigeria’s democratic evolution, designed to redefine public perception of governance by dismantling long-standing stereotypes, emotional biases and misinformation that have historically distorted citizen engagement with leadership.
Dr Ibrahim disclosed that the movement would embark on nationwide engagements across the six geopolitical zones ahead of the next electoral cycle, beginning with an assessment of President Tinubu’s scorecard and extending to APC-led state governments and local government administrations.
He said the group would focus on policy explanation, reform advocacy, misinformation management and national cohesion, in alignment with the development objectives of the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
The group maintained that Nigeria is at a defining moment where policy consistency and reform consolidation are more critical than disruptive political resets, noting that many ongoing reforms require time, stability and informed public support to deliver lasting democratic dividends.
NAFT.27 recalled that the movement was first announced publicly in May 2025 at a special reception held at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Continental Hotel in honour of a former National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Alhaji Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, serves as the Grand Patron of the movement and was said to have provided foundational insights into the vision and national relevance of the initiative.
The group reaffirmed its confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, saying the joint ticket has continued to counter divisive narratives rooted in ethnic, religious and cultural fault lines.
It added that as the Federal Government continues to address challenges such as rural poverty and urban hardship, the administration remains committed to improving the basic and felt needs of Nigerians through deliberate, people-focused policies.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Renewed Hope is a journey, not an event,” the group said, calling on Nigerians, particularly young people, to remain patient, engaged and discerning as ongoing reforms translate into a more stable, inclusive and progressive society.
