Nigerian-born, U.S.-based gospel artiste, Eguono Emuraishe Onokpikini recently hosted a high-profile celebration in Detroit, Michigan, to honour her husband, Etaroghene Kelvin Onokpikini, as he marked his 45th birthday.

The event attracted a cross-section of faith leaders, creatives and prominent community figures, reflecting the couple’s wide-reaching influence within faith-based and cultural circles. Guests travelled from across the United States, including family members, church leaders, industry collaborators and long-standing friends, to attend the gathering.

Guests described Onokpikini as a man of strong character, humility and service, commending his role as a supportive spouse and devoted father. They also highlighted his behind-the-scenes contributions to his wife’s gospel music ministry, noting his involvement in faith-based community development, mentorship and initiatives that promote unity and cultural engagement.

The celebration also coincided with the couple’s 19th wedding anniversary, turning the occasion into a dual milestone of thanksgiving and reflection. Married for nearly two decades, the couple share five children, whose presence added emotional depth to the evening. Guests used the moment to celebrate not only Onokpikini’s birthday, but also the longevity and stability of a union grounded in shared faith and purpose.

In her remarks, Emuraishe shifted the tone of the evening from celebration to worship, offering a public testimony of gratitude. “I want to use this opportunity to thank God Almighty for His grace upon my husband and our five beautiful children. This is not me; it can only be God,” she said, drawing sustained applause from attendees.

Emuraishe began her musical journey in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, where she joined her church youth choir as a teenager. She has since grown into an internationally recognised gospel minister, known for worship-centred music and spiritually driven performances that resonate with audiences across continents.

Beyond music, Emuraishe has expanded her footprint as a creative entrepreneur, working as a movie producer, writer, director, actor, chief executive, brand ambassador and executive producer. Her latest single, ‘My Capability’, was produced by gospel label, EeZee Conceptz, while her recent film project, ‘Weeping Heart’, features her as both executive producer and actor.

While centred on celebrating her husband, the Detroit event also reinforced the couple’s growing global influence and their shared impact as partners in ministry and creative enterprise.
