The Association of Professional Party Organisers and Events Managers in Nigeria (APPOEMN) has conducted its Jollof Truck Outreach, distributing food to over 1,500 residents across Surulere and Ikeja in Lagos.

The outreach, which catered to both the young and old, was organised as part of the association’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to support the community during the festive period.

Speaking on the significance of the event, President of APPOEMN, represented by the Vice President, Babatunde Olawuyi, in a statement described the outreach as a celebration of humanity, noting that the association is committed to giving back to society, particularly during the Yuletide season.

“Food is our love language and our culture in Nigeria, hence why we, as event professionals, chose to distribute food to Nigerians today,” Olawuyi added.

The Welfare Director of APPOEMN, Adebola Omotade, confirmed the impact of the exercise, noting that the groupy gave out over 1,500 packs of food.

In a statement, she explained the rationale behind the selected locations, stating that as “party people,” the group decided to extend their love to others through the sharing of Nigerian Jollof.

“We decided to choose Surulere given that it is a large community in Lagos with many needy people, and Ikeja, being the capital, allowed us to reach the heart of Lagos today,” Omotade explained.

Also speaking at the event, the Public Relations Officer of APPOEMN, Shakirat Bello, emphasized the association’s leadership role in the industry.

She stated: “APPOEMN is the mother body of event industry associations in Nigeria, and this is our own initiative of putting smiles on the faces of people in Lagos, given that this period is the season of Love and Giving.”

In her final message to Nigerians, Bello charged citizens to take up the responsibility to love and give to one another, urging that this spirit of generosity should continue this season and even beyond.
