There has been downpour of awards for Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, for his exceptional performance as a minister.
Last Wednesday, Tuggar was honoured with the Business Day Excellence in Public Service Award, an annual recognition for top-performing public officials.
He received award at a ceremony held at The Blanc Event Hall, Central Business District, Abuja.
The 7th edition of the award ceremony drew prominent figures from both the public and private sectors, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
Other recipients included the Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and NiMET DG, Prof. Charles Anosike, among several other distinguished public sector leaders.
The Publisher of Business Day, Frank Aigbogun, said the awards celebrate federal ministers, agency heads, and senior public officials who demonstrate exemplary leadership, policy innovation, operational excellence, and effective stakeholder engagement.
He noted that honourees are assessed not only on their achievements but also on the processes that produced them, including transparency, sustainability, and coalition-building.
Aigbogun added that despite the country’s economic challenges and the urgency to fulfil President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, many public officials have shown resilience, creativity, and strong commitment to delivering on their mandates.
This is the second awards the minister would receive under three weeks; few weeks ago, the brilliant minister, who could be considered as number one public image officer for Nigeria, was announced as one of the most performed ministers in the present regime.
These awards and recognition have not come based on bias but for his exceptional and outstanding performance in projecting the country image especially in this trying period.
There is no gainsaying the fact that the extremely talented minister has assumed the position of the number one public relations officer for Nigeria , traversing the world and polishing the image of the country.
