Itohan Asibor is not just baking cakes; she’s building a legacy. A seasoned baker, certified master sugarcraft artist, and respected business coach, she is the Founder and Director of Bluberry Confectioneries Inc., a premium cake and dessert company with roots in Nigeria and a growing footprint in Canada. What began humbly at her kitchen table has since evolved into an internationally recognized brand known for its artistry, precision, and business excellence.
Itohan’s journey is a story of vision, grit, and passion. Trained by some of the world’s most revered confectionery artists, including Ron Ben Israel and Buddy Valastro, she has invested years in mastering her craft, earning industry-respected certifications such as PME Master Baker (UK). Her creations are as technically refined as they are visually stunning, a hallmark of her commitment to high standards.
Beyond the accolades and artistry lies a deeper mission: to empower. Through The Cake Faculty, an institute she founded to mentor and train aspiring bakers, Itohan has become a beacon for entrepreneurs across Africa and the diaspora. Hundreds have benefited from her coaching, business insights, and candid approach to entrepreneurship. Her mentorship extends globally through her work with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in Business, UK, where she supports women-led enterprises with structured, impactful guidance.
In her own words, “My goal has never been just to build a cake business. I have always seen it as a platform to inspire, to teach, and to give others the courage to turn their passion into purpose. If my journey shows anything, it’s that you can start small, stay consistent, and still achieve global impact.”
In addition to her culinary pursuits, Itohan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Benin and is a director at Antigua Pharmacies Nigeria Ltd. She is an alumna of the Enterprise Development Centre (Pan African University), a graduate of FATE Foundation, and a beneficiary of the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Scholarship credentials that underscore her intellectual depth and strategic mindset.
Community service is central to her work. A passionate advocate for autism awareness, she organizes charity cake auctions and educational seminars that promote early diagnosis and intervention. Her dedication to service and impact reflects a belief that true success must be shared and must serve.
Itohan Asibor is a woman who has defied the odds thrice over building a business that not only thrives but uplifts others. Her influence continues to ripple through boardrooms, bakeries, and classrooms, inspiring a new generation of bakers and entrepreneurs to lead with heart, skill, and purpose.
