A group, the Niger Delta Eco Monitors has called for the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Ltd, Mr. Mele Kyari, to be given more time to complete the rehabilitation he has begun in the refineries across the country.
Recall that under Kyari, the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries resumed operations, with a promise to get the Kaduna refinery running also.
The group led by Fred Magada passed a vote of confidence on Kyari and called on detractors to allow him finish the good work he started.
Magada in a statement after a meeting held in Warri, Delta State during the weekend said Kyari has surpassed the expectations they had of him and deserves more time.
He said, “these are refineries that we have been promised over and again they will resume operation, but under Kyari this came to reality. Not just one but two refineries, with a promise to get the one in Kaduna running as well.
“When someone fulfills a promise made, you give them time to do more, and that is what we are seeking for Mr Kyari. He has delivered on his promise of getting the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries to resume operation. This is why we have passed a vote of confidence on him and ask that he be allowed to finish the good job he has started.”
The meeting had in attendance representatives for the nine states of the Niger Delta.
The group further revealed that it would embark on a peace walk in support of Kyari this Friday.
