BENIN CITY – THE 91 years old Benin Recreation Club has commissioned some landmark achievements where it promised to continue to render services to humanity and the comfort of its members.
The president of the club, Mr. Osasuyi Courage stated this at the commissioning of landmark projects of the club where he narrated how the journey started with him in the saddle and that the prestigious Club has had it very good under his leadership as President.
The president eulogized the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Club led by Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen and BRC Executive Committee Members 2024 and members of the club for their unalloyed support.
On his part, the Public Relations Officer of the Club, Wilson Edoko, highlighted some of the legacy projects undertaken by Courage led administration which started on January 7th to include Solar Power Street Lights, Solar Powered CCTV, Remodelling of the Inner Cold Room, Construction Of Children’s Room (and Staff resting Area), Construction of Storage Warehouse and Perimeter Fencing
According to him some of the Legacy Projects initiated under the leadership of Mr. Courage include the Ossiomo Power Line and Transformer.
He said the Volleyball Court which was the latest addition to the club was commissioned by the president of Benin Club President, Barr. Henry Omoregie who commended the members of BRC for supporting their chairman who he referred to as his brother.
Edoko said the BRC Children Playground which was the brainchild of Mr. Egberamwen Iyamu was commissioned by his wife while the Reconstruction and Remodeling of the club General Convenience was commissioned by a BOT member, Elder Ogbomo, while another member, Mr. Eddie Osayi commissioned the naming of Swimming/Football Section to Sir Patrick I. Osayi Haven.
According to him, the President took dignitaries to the renovated cold-room of the Tennis Section which was commissioned by the Chairman, Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Mr. Festus Alenkhe named Eddy Emma Osayi Pavilion.
The Digital Signage was commissioned by Hon Iduoriyekemwen while the Matthew Iduoriyekemwen Entry Gate was commissioned by the Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Benin Branch, Mr. Edamwen Oghahenhen and Robert Iredia Exit Gate was commissioned by a past President of BRC, Engr. Wilfred Irogue.
