Senator Jibrin Barau, Deputy President of the Senate, has begun to assist in improving the security situation in Kano state by donating 1,000 motorcycles to the Police operatives, so as to foster greater community-police relations in the state.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northwest Youth Leader, Abdulhamid Umar Muhammad, commended Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, for donating the motorcycles, saying the initiative was aimed at bolstering the Police Force’s ability to maintain law and order, particularly in the northern part of the state.
Muhammad described the donation as a positive and timely intervention that reflected Senator Barau’s commitment to improving security and fostering greater community-police relations.
He said that the motorcycles would not only enhance the mobility of officers but also ensure a more responsive and efficient security apparatus capable of addressing emerging challenges in the region.
“This gesture is a clear demonstration of Senator Barau’s dedication to the welfare of the people of Kano State. By improving the mobility of the police, this initiative will play a crucial role in maintaining peace and preventing crime, particularly in hard-to-reach areas,” he said.
The APC Youth Leader explained further that while such donations could improve operational capacity, it was also important for the public to recognize the broader implications of such efforts.
He said that the donation would not solve security issues in isolation but must be complemented by sustained investments in policing, intelligence gathering, and community engagement.
Muhammad called on other political leaders and stakeholders to support the security forces by providing necessary resources to enhance their operational efficiency, adding that” it is crucial for communities to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the success of security initiatives and to build a safer environment for all.”
Muhammad urged political leaders to take a more proactive role in addressing security challenges, acknowledging that only through collective action could the state’s security challenges be effectively managed.
