The Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAMV), a concerned group, has called on leading opposition candidates from the 2023 presidential election—Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso—to set aside their ambitions in favor of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed’s presidential run in 2027.

The appeal was made during BAMV’s Southeast Zonal Congress in Enugu, themed “Reechoing Our Call On Governor Bala Mohammed To Rescue Nigeria Come 2027,” held at Bridge Waters Hotel, Enugu.

In an address, the National Director of Protocol for BAMV, Hon. Peace Iheanyi, emphasized the group’s continued commitment to the long-term goal of positioning Governor Mohammed as a frontrunner for the presidency.

She urged all members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigerians to support his candidacy, stressing that only a PDP-led administration could rescue the nation from its current economic struggles.

“Our great nation is at a critical crossroad,” Iheanyi said, highlighting the enduring economic hardships, the Naira’s sharp decline, and the APC-led government’s perceived failures. She added, “The PDP is better positioned to win back power in 2027, and Governor Bala Mohammed has what it takes to rescue Nigeria.”

Iheanyi also pointed to the governor’s track record in Bauchi State and the importance of mobilizing nationwide support for his presidential bid. She emphasized that BAMV’s commitment to the project has been unwavering since it launched the campaign in 2020.

In his remarks, BAMV National Secretary Abubakar Umar commended Governor Mohammed’s contributions to Nigeria in various capacities, expressing optimism that he would provide solutions to the country’s many challenges if elected president.

South East Zonal Coordinator Eugene Nwankwo echoed the sentiment, calling on the people of the Southeast and all PDP governors to rally behind Governor Mohammed’s 2027 presidential aspirations.
