Ramadan Talk
Amidst the pervading hardship in the country, there is the possibility to be overwhelmed by the unbearable inflation with very little or no means of meeting your needs in Ramadan.
We find ourselves in time of fear as a result of insecurity, uncertainty as a result of the economic and business receding and falling before our eyes, yet, it is precisely in this moment that we must rededicate ourselves to the promise of Allah – Verily, with hardship, comes ease.
We can also remind ourselves with this famous verse of the Quran, Quran 2 vs 214; Mata nasrullahi, ala inna nasarallahi qareeb: “When will Allah’s help come? Verily, Allah’s help is indeed near!” The verse was revealed when the Muslims were surrounded by the enemies and filled with fear during the battle of Khandaq.
At a time when numerous tribes combined to attack the Muslims, a trench was dug around the vulnerable points of Madīnah to prevent anyone from entering.
The Muslims as described in this verse were so distraught and shaken that the Prophet (s.a.w) and those that were with him turned to Allah (SWT) and uttered the prayer in this verse: When will the Help of Allah come?…(Q 2:214).
The verse teaches us that whatever challenges we face, some people before us have been tested in different forms and they got out of it, we also can expect to be tried and shaken. That is the norm of human life on earth. We will surely get out of it.
It is also to understand that the trials that we face are meant develop us and come out of them stronger and closer to Allah (SWT). Our creator is best aware of what we are capable of and Allah does not task any soul beyond its capacity. . . (Q 2:286).
When we face trials with the intention of growth, it allows us to be in the correct mind space to face them with positivity. We must never forget that how we respond to these challenges will be the distinguishing factor between those who will grow towards perfection and those who will not.
Let us find comfort and tranquility in every situation, knowing that no matter what we go through in life, the help of Allah (SWT) is indeed near. This Ramadan, we are called to remember that victory from Allah is not only a promise but a certainty for those who believe.
However, this victory comes with conditions that require us to act—to stand firm in our faith and contributions towards positive change. We have to be steadfast, with the resolve that Allah will remove all the pains and replace them with ease.
