Okuama: NDYM sympathizes with military

THE Niger Delta Youth Movement, NDYM, Delta State chapter, has commiserated with the military over the killing of 17 officers and soldiers at Okuama community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Newly inaugurated Chairman of the State Chapter of NDYM, Comrade Japhet Epochi, in a statement, also extended the group’s condolences to the families of the fallen military personnel.

He acknowledged their sacrifice and unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security within the Niger Delta region.

He said NDYM is a non-militant advocacy organization “wholeheartedly committed to promoting human rights, accountability, and development in the Niger Delta region.

Epochi stater that the “NDYM’s primary aim is to alleviate poverty, conserve the environment, and create employment opportunities, particularly for the youth population.”

He emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity among stakeholders to drive sustainable progress and tackle the challenges faced by the Niger Delta communities, adding that the group was “commitment to peaceful and constructive approaches, firmly denouncing any form of militancy or violence. “

He urged all members and the entire Delta state chapter to rally behind the organization’s vision and actively contribute to the holistic growth of the Niger Delta region.

“NDYM aims to achieve our goals through peaceful means, constructive dialogue, and policy advocacy. NDYM has been championing the cause of youth development in the region for over a decade.

“With a focus on education, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development, NDYM has been instrumental in uplifting numerous communities while empowering countless youths to become agents of positive change.”

He stated that as the newly inaugurated youth state chairman, his vision, commitment and leadership abilities are anticipated to enhance NDYM’s influence and cultivate collaborations with governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and the private sector.
