Ado Ekiti -The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared all the the three senatorial districts and two House of Representatives seats in the election conducted last Saturday.

In the results announced by the Returning Officer for Ekiti South senatorial district, Prof Laide Lawal, said Prince Dayo Adeyeye of the APC polled 77, 621 to defeat his closest rival Senator Biodun Olujimi of the PDP who scored 53, 741.

The presiding officer also declared Yemi Adaramodu of the APC winner of the Ekiti South federal constituency having polled 41, 864 to beat Segun Adekola of the PDP who had 25, 707.

Similarly, in Ekiti North, Prof Fasina Abayomi Sunday, the INEC Presiding Officer, declared Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi of the APC as the winner having scored 60, 689 to defeat Senator Duro Faseyi of the PDP who polled 49, 209.

Also in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Sola Omotola, declared the APC candidate, Opeyemi Bamidele as the winner with a total votes of 94,279, while close his rival, Obafemi Adewale of the PDP scored 48,707.

The Returning officer for the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency1, Prof Omolehin Ajayi, declared Steve Fatoba of the APC as the winner with 55,483 votes, to defeat the PDP Candidate, Oldimeji Ayodele, who got 27, 836.

Prof Sunday also declared APC Olanrewaju Ibrahim winner for Ekiti North federal constituency 2.

He scored 29,388 votes to beat Olusola Omotoso of the PDP who polled 23, 684 votes.

Fayemi urges winners to be humble

Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi on Sunday said he remained grateful to God for the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State.

He also expressed gratitude to Ekiti people for their peaceful conduct during the election, thereby making the conduct of the election peaceful and orderly in the state.

Governor Fayemi spoke at the Government House Chapel, Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, where he worshiped along with Prince Dayo Adeyeye (Senator-Elect for Ekiti Central District) and Hon Sola Fatoba (member –Elect, House of Representatives Ekiti Central 1) and Prof Dupe Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of the state.

The Governor, who recalled that the congregation had two weeks ago, prayed for the peaceful conduct of the general elections in Ekiti State, said God had indeed answered the prayers of the people as the elections were held in a peaceful atmosphere in the state.
