Herdsmen invade Onokpasa’s compound, maim son

The compound of late elder statesman author and renowned educationist, Benedict Etedjere Onokpasa was invaded yesterday by herdsmen who attacked one of his sons, Abraham Onokpasa, who as at press time was still lying critically ill in hospital.

Abraham suffered a machete cut on the head for challenging the herdsmen from invading the premises and destroying his sister’s farm.

Police from the Amuovo Junction police station along Sapele-Warri Expressway have taken the herdsmen into custody.

Abraham is the last born child of the late Onokpasa one of those who fought tirelessly for the creation of the defunct Midwest Region from the Western Region.

His elder brother, lawyer and writer, Jesutega Onokpasa described the attack as “another depressing indictment on the utter shamefulness the current administration” vowing to leave no stone unturned in bringing the attackers of his brother to book.
