In our last edition, we identified stones, as simple objects  with physical and spiritual  impacts on the lives of human beings.

Somehow, I feel led by the Spirit of God to discuss this issue of stones again.

Let’s look at the encounter of our Lord Jesus with Satan just after he had fasted for 40 days.

Luke 4 vs. 1-4  ( King James Version )“ And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness , Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing; and when  they were ended, he afterward hungered.  And the devil said unto him, , If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.  And Jesus  answered him, saying ,  It is written , That man shall not live by bread alone  but by every word of God”.

Brethren, have you noticed the mention of stone again. First, Satan knows that stones  can hear and be transformed to anything including food.   Can you imagine, had our Lord Jesus yielded to Satan’s voice, that stone would have limited his Spiritual  work; the work  of Salvation that God sent him to do.

Take note also, that Satan saw a vacuum; hunger and he  thought our Lord Jesus will give in to hunger and command  the stone to become bread.

But thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit.  Filled with the The Spirit of Truth, our Lord Jesus overpowered Satan.

Be not deceived, everyone has one stone or the other limiting  the fulfillment of one’s destiny.  The issue is do you submit to the stone and allow it to limit you or you empower  your spiritual life and roll away the stone.

Human beings also represent stones. Let’s consider the story of Joseph who was destined to be a prime minister.    The first set of stones that stopped him were his own siblings.   They were determined to stop him . To actualize their aim, they first threw him into a pit and then sold him to some nomadic Egyptians.

Then he met another  human stone in the house of Potiphar;   Potiphar’s wife who asked Joseph to sleep with her.

Genesis 39 vs7 – 9.   Let’s consider Joseph’s response in verse 9 “ There is none greater in this house than I ; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

What in your  view stopped Joseph from committing that grave sin?   The Holy Spirit.   Joseph had filled his life with the word of God and had become so knowledgeable that he could identify sinful acts.  He refused to be lured into sin.

In your own case, what kind of company do you keep? As a married man,  what you do is to close from work and hang out with women of easy virtues rather than go home to your family?   If this is your habit, you are the one  hindering your progress with  stones. The company you keep could get you  into trouble that you may never be free from. Note that if Joseph yielded to Potiphar’s wife, he could either have been killed or sent to jail.  In that situation, will God intervene on his behalf?   Not likely except of course he asks for the mercy of God.

Let’s take another look at the stone and its effect in our lives.

You are probably familiar with the story of Daniel and  the lion’s den.

Daniel 6 vs. 16 &17 “ Then the King commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions.  Now the  King spake and said unto Daniel , Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of  his lords that the purpose  might not be changed concerning Daniel”.

Why was the stone laid upon the mouth of the den?   To seal the fate of Daniel so that the lions would devour him but God instead sealed the mouth of the lions and Daniel was saved.

This season, God will give you a miracle that will seal the mouth of  your detractors in the name of Jesus.

Brethren, have you found your own stones? Are you filled with the word of God to empower your stones?  Can your stones deliver you?   It is time for you to locate your stones in the word of God and use it to set yourself free from every hold of the enemy.

As usual let me share a testimony. A couple  was  waiting on the Lord  for children and a relation invited them to meet a  prophetess  somewhere on the outskirts of Lagos.  They met the woman who claimed to be a servant of God. Each time the couple visited, this prophetess would give  the woman  some water to drink assuring her that she would conceive.   At some point, the woman realized that  the water smells like fish water.  She continued taking it  since she didn’t see any fish. One day, while at the residence of the prophetess, she wanted to use the rest room  that was behind the uncompleted building  where the prophetess resides.   On her way, the Lord opened her eyes and she saw a shallow spot dug within the cemented compound and in it was a big fish.   She was taken aback  determined to take a closer look at it on her way back from the restroom.

Surprisingly, on her way back, she saw nothing. This is mystery she said to herself and could not even discuss it with the woman.

Who opened her eyes?  The Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of God had revealed to her the source of the water she had been drinking.  Of course from that day, she stopped seeing this false prophet and decided to be a full member of a living church.

To the glory of God,  the yoke of barrenness was broken and she is now a mother of three.

Did you see where her relations led her? If not for the mercy of God she would never have known.

Godly stones –  As Christians we need to fill our lives with the word of God. The word of God is our stone against satanic forces. No matter how righteous you are, agents of the devil will at one time or the other try to limit you with their stones.   Make up your mind to use stones backed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit to receive your break- through.

Whatever is the unpleasant situation you are passing through in this journey of life, the word of God has an answer.  You only need to pick the right stone and with the backing of the Lord of hosts , your victory is assured.

Brethren, if your story must change, you too must change your attitude to the word of God.

Before, I end this article, I’ll  identify some Godly stones  that should be helpful  to you.

Psalm 72 vs 12 “ For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also and him that hath no helper”.  This is God’s promise to you.   Use it and  he will meet your needs.  Tell your Father in Heaven that he is your helper and he must help you.

Are  you troubled by the power of  witchcraft?   Move against such forces in prayer.  Exodus 22 vs. 18  “ Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live”.   This is your stone.  Tell God to  silence  the spirit of witchcraft disturbing your life.  Continuously deploy your stone against the forces of darkness. With the backing of the King of glory, you will overcome.

Several stones are available in the Holy Bible.  Examples  include  Psalm 68 vs. 1, Isaiah 54 vs. 17. When you pray with these and others you have identified, the power of the Almighty God will give you victory that will make  you say, “I never knew he would answer  me this way”.

This season, God will fight all your battles and you will sing a new song in the mighty name of Jesus.

Wherever you go this week, I pray that the Lord will set you free from all forms of limitation in Jesus name.
