DELTA State Government has taken over the land that has been subject of dispute between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities in Warri South West and Udu Local Government Areas of the State.
The measure, approved by the Delta State Security Council, is to stem the blood-letting among Ogbe Ijoh, Aladja and Isaba residents, who use the surrounding bushes in the affected area as cover to perpetrate evil.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Zanna Ibrahim, visited the troubled areas yesterday, to inspect ongoing clearing of the area by government.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said: “As part of continuous efforts at ensuring that the lingering crises between Ogbe-Ijoh, Aladja and Isaba communities, which have resulted in maiming, destruction of lives and properties, are brought to an end, the Commissioner of Police, Zanna Ibrahim, visited the disputed lands, once again, to have a first-hand assessment of the security situation.”
