National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations, NACOMYO, has implored the Sultan of Sokoto and “Amirul Mumineen” of Nigeria, His Eminence, Alh Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll to sustain and consolidate on his proactive initiatives for nation building and global peace.
In a tribute on the occasion of Sultan’s tenth anniversary of his ascension to the exalted Sultanate throne, the apex Muslim youth group led by Kamaldeen Akintunde lauded the “Amirul Mumineen” for his efforts on national cohesion and building a united and one Nigeria.
NACOMYO stated that Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar has significantly made impacts in intra and inter-faith harmony, fostering religious understanding and tolerance among adherents of the various faiths, scholarship initiatives, unity of the “Ummah”(Muslim Community), cooperation and collaboration for development, and humanitarian & charitable undertakings.
The group noted that the spiritual head of Muslims has since his ascension in 2006 traveled the length and breadth of the country, building bridges within and across faiths, ethnicity, races, preaching national and global peace as bedrock for sustainable growth and development of a nation.
Commending the monarch’s exemplary partnership and robust team initiative with his fellow soldiers of faith, the Roman Catholic Arch-Bishop of Abuja, His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan on interfaith cooperation and collaboration, NACOMYO implored the President of NSCIA,and co-Chairman of NIREC to consolidate on his peace building initiative for sustainable peace,unity,growth and development of the country.
The group opined that “Sultanate Foundation for Peace and Development” established by His Eminence is a patriotic initiative aimed at advancing the cause of humanity, just as it applauded the proposed “Nana Asma’u College of Medical Sciences” being established by the Sultan as a veritable initiative and a step in the right direction.
