Leekens to study Super Eagles/Zambia tape

Algeria coach, Georges Leekens will spend between Wednesday and Friday studying the tape of the 2-1 win the Super Eagles posted over Zambia in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Ndola Zambia.

Algeria signed on the coach last week in the wake of the 1-1 draw they played against Cameroon at home. It was a development that consumed coach Milovan Rajevac. But the Algerians are hopeful of a win against the Super Eagles in Uyo, Akwa Ibom on November 12.

The Belgian-born coach said he needs to study the tape to get a first hand information on the make of the Nigerian team. Leekens who had a run of bad results with Lokeren losing 12 games this season is likely to settle for a tighter defensive formation to curtail the inform Super Eagles’ strike force.

“The pressure to win in Nigeria does not scare me at all. I am motivated to succeed with the Greens. I can also say that I have a debt to the Algerian team,” Leekens told  Algerian daily Le Buteur.

“The preparation for the match will begin on Wednesday and will last until Thursday evening or Friday.”
