The state Commissioner for Works, Engr. Bethel Harrison, said at the occasion: “I am very happy to be part of a thing like this. This is first of its kind, where a church is taking up a project like this. It has never been done.”

He also assured that the Rivers state government would partner with churches willing to assist government in construction and rehabilitation of roads to realize the noble objective.

The Pastor in Charge of RCCG, Living Spring Zone, Pastor Caleb Onofeghara, explained that the construction of the road was part of the church’s  Corporate Social Responsibility which is meant to ease the suffering of motorists, members and people living within the vicinity especially during raining season.

He expressed appreciation to the Redeemers’ Men Fellowship of the church for initiating the N4.5 million project and implementing it.

The commissioning of the road was done by the Pastor in charge of Rivers Province 3, Pastor David Adeniyi, on behalf of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who has been reiterating not only in words, but in action that RCCG is a neighbourhood church.
