Tackling corruption together’
Towards fighting corruption which has been described as a cancer that eats through basic foundations and fabrics of a nation like Nigeria and other countries suffering same fate, the UK Government, in making good its nation’s commitments has among others, proposed a Criminal Finance Bill suggesting; ‘Hundreds of British properties suspected of belonging to corrupt politicians, tax evaders and criminals could be seized by enforcement agencies under tough new laws designed to tackle London’s reputation as a haven for dirty money.
Obiogbolu flays Obiano for ‘poor defence of Anambra indigenes’
A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and leader of Oganiru Anambra Movement in Anambra State, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, says it is unfortunate that the state government is not doing enough to protect traders and businesses from what he described as systematic exploitation by commercial banks and oppressive government policies even as he decried the ‘’insensitivity of the commercial banks who in 2015 alone collected over N370 billion in deposits in Anambra and yet extended credit to Ndi Anambra of less than N40 billion.”
Benin Republic varsity honours Al-Mustapha, others
All roads led to Republic of Benin on Saturday, October 15, where Esep-le Berger University, honoured Major Hamzat al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha, along with other notable Nigerians. al-Mustapha was honoured with an award of Doctor of Science (Honorary Causa) in Humanities.
