Group faults attacks on Buhari’s associates

By Precious  John-Aziken
The Arewa Youth Leaders for Development and Change has expressed concern over what it described as targeted attacks against senior officials of the Federal Government and associates of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group, in a statement by its National President, Abubakar Karga, weekend, particularly expressed concern that the attacks, it claimed was aimed at undermining the President, could be inspired from within his political family and government agencies.

Two associates of the President, listed as among the targets, were his Chief of Staff, Mr. Abba Kyari, and his cousin, Mamman Daura.

It said: “Our position is that these are unjustified attacks on an achiever out of spite and should at best be ignored.

“Kyari and Daura have been falsely accused of corruption and meddlesomeness in state affairs, and after painstaking efforts to understand the nature and intent of these attacks, we came to realise that Kyari and Daura are pawns on the board for people who want to get at President Muhammadu Buhari for selfish reasons.”
